HoopSkool and HoopSculpt Sampler Apr 4–29
Posted April 2, 2010
Note: Whole lotta hooping going on. Posted as, and when, received.
HoopSkool is in session!
Learn to hoop dance with grace, power, flow, and control, and blow your friends and family away with your amazing new skills! HoopSkool is an exciting, four-week, progressive hoop dance class that will push you to learn way faster than you could alone. This class is mixed level, beginner and intermediate. In four weeks you'll be spinning, twirling, tossing, and jumping through your hoop like a pro.
Sign up now, or try it for $10 Sunday April 4! (RSVP required)
Why struggle through all the trial and error by yourself? I've perfected a vocabulary of dazzling tricks, sequences, practice techniques, and an idiot-proof system of translating my knowledge into you! We'll cover technique, stretching, choreography, developing your personal style, and everything in between. Each series will feature a guest instructor for one day to pass on his or her best gems of "hoopocity."
Our guest instructor this time is hoop master and certified badass Malcolm Stuart. He is one of the best hoopers in the country. If you didn't get to experience his brilliant and mindblowing class last December, now is your chance. It's an absolute privilege to work with one of my personal hoop heroes, and this one class is seriously worth the price of the whole series.
Don't listen to me though, see for yourself:

Bring:
1 small and 1 big adult-sized hoop in decent condition. Hoops will also be available to rent or buy if you don't have one (free at the sampler class April 1). Also bring water and a towel.
Dress:
Comfortable, breathable clothes that you don't mind sweating in. Shorts and a t-shirt (or top with no sleeves) are great, because the hoop sticks best to skin. Looser clothes and slick materials like spandex make the hoop slippery.
Kind Words:
"Thanks again for such an incredible three weeks. It was really great. I am really enjoying the class! Thanks for offering it. I had lots of fun on Tuesday and am looking forward to this evening."
– Rachel
"I had a great time in class on Tuesday—I enjoyed it a lot, learned a lot, and I even have a few knee bruises and sore stomach muscles to show for it. I LOVE hooping and I can tell I'm going to be doing it for a long time."
– Nola
"Hey Ted, I learned a lot from class too. You're a great teacher! I thought your modifications for moves were awesome. I was prepared to practice basic moves in second current so I could challenge myself but with the modifications you provided I had challenges to work on in first current as well. I enjoyed that very much… I am improving already :)"
– Erika
