If you have ever wanted to run away with the circus, and still be home in time for dinner, here is your chance. New York Circus Arts Academy is the largest circus school on the East Coast, and offers the only Professional Certificate in Circus Arts in the US, as well as year round recreational and fitness courses. Trial Classes take place at NYCAA's Midtown and Park Slope facilities, and are open to all students who are considering registering for an NYCAA course.
NYCAA's contemporary circus arts training is an exhilarating, artistic, and unique experience for people of all ages, fitness levels, and body types.
Trial Class participants are assigned to work groups and rotate through 3-4 different work stations. Each station present approximately 15 minutes of beginner material from NYCAA disciplines including Dynamic Acrobatics (tumbling, trampoline, vaulting) Aerial Acrobatics (vertical silk, static trapeze), and Acrobalance (hand balancing, pyramids) plus a rotating base of material from Juggling, Physical Acting, and Conditioning & Flexibility. Aided by trained instructors, students learn the fundamentals of circus skills as seen in Cirque du Soleil, in a safe, structured and fun environment.
For those wanting to continue their circus arts training, registration is open for NYCAA Fall I Semester Courses, which run September 10 - October 21. There is a $20 registration fee for Trial Classes. Participants who register for an NYCAA Semester Course immediately following Trial Class will have $20 deducted from their Semester tuition.
