Movement Workshops at Bond Street Theatre

Note: Bond Street Theatre often incorporates juggling, stilt walking, and other circus skills into their productions and workshops. This is obviously not a juggling workshop (although they do mention object manipulation), but it may be of interest to performers.

World Theatre Workshops
5 instructors, 5 weeks
3-hour classes, 2 days a week
(Sunday & Monday nights -- 7-10 pm)
-- a must for all physical actors and performers! These classes explore basic principles of movement as
demonstrated through dynamic physical theatre and dance styles from around the world.
The program is more than a overview -- we will discover and compare the differences
in balance, shape, weight placement, tempo, and musicality in each form.
Classes will include theatre-dance-movement forms including:
Korean mask dance, Japanese movement styles, African dance and body percussion, Chinese Peking Opera forms and object manipulation, Philippine movement styles.
Here is an opportunity to experience some of the most compelling physical theatre styles in one workshop series.
When? January 30 through February 28. Sunday & Monday nights -- 7-10 pm
Where? Bond Street Theatre @ 2 Bond Street, NYC (2 blocks north of Houston, btwn Lafayette and Broadway, Subway: B, D, F, V to Broadway/Lafayette)
Fee? $350
There will be an open 45-minute warm up session for workshop participants led by members of Bond Street Theatre before each class.
