CONTEST GUIDELINES

  • You can use any product or paraphernalia that is related to tobacco in its many forms (smoking, chewing, and dipping)


  • You must clean up after yourself




  • NOTE

    Portions of prelimanary rounds may occur outdoors due to Convention Center smoking regulations

    Tobacco Product Manipulation Contest

    At the 2007 International Jugglers' Convention, Benton Convention Center and Millennium Night Club, Winston-Salem, NC

    Hundreds of dollars in cash money and prizes for the best tobacco product trick presented at the 2007 International Juggler's Convention in Winston-Salem, NC.

    Contest dates: July 17-21, 2007

    Registration and preliminary auditions: July 17 - 20 at the Carmine Street Irregulars booth, Benton Convention Center, Winston-Salem, NC.

    Final Competion: July 21 at Renegade show at Millennium Night Club, Winston-Salem, NC.

    Throughout its history, the juggling arts have included the manipulation of cigarettes, cigars, and pipes, and all of the paraphernalia that is associated with tobacco. Over the past century many of the most famous juggling entertainers were known for their abilities to use tobacco-related items in performance, such as Cinquevalli, Bobby May, Frank Eders, Adanos, Bob Bramson, and W.C. Fields. A number of entertainers continue to present smoking displays including Kris Kremo, Tomas Medina, Mark Faje, Tom Mulica, Keith Nelson, Vince Bruce, Kristian Kristoff, Tom Notty, Harry Anderson, and (insert your name here).

    Celebrating Winston-Salem's role as the home of the R.J. Reynolds tobacco dynasty, Bindlestiff Family Variety Arts and NYC's Carmine Street Juggling Club have organized a competition seeking the best manipulation of any tobacco related items. Preliminary auditions will be held at NYC's Carmine Street Juggling Club lounge at the Convention Center throughout the week. The four finalists from the contest will compete at the Saturday Night Renegade for a cash prize.
