"The little trick of getting three objects to dance around in your hands has always managed to keep a small sense of magic...It's one form of insanity we feel everyone has a right to experience."

7 Fingers at Spiegeltent through August 31
Posted August 8, 2007

Les 7 Doigts de la Main are the French-Canadian based circus troupe you may have seen performing on TV to promote the Olympics in Montreal. Founding members include the charismatic diabolist who co-hosted the IJA public show in Montreal in 2000, Patrick Léonard, and another solid diabolist, Sébastien Soldevila.

From the Spiegeltent website:

Be the first to see this world premiere!

A special limited New York engagement only at the Spiegeltent!

La Vie is a cabaret... on the outskirts of life. Before exiting either upstage or downstage, the players are literally dying to prove themselves. It will be the performance of a lifetime. Flying high above the audience, the MC cajoles the players to act out unfulfilled fantasies, reveal hidden taboos and indulge unrequited passions. The final judgment is up to you. Remember, someone's hell is another's heaven.

"The gently unorthodox, intelligently wry and breathtaking skillful wonder of the 'new circus' experience called '7 Fingers.' If this is the circus of the 21st century, things are looking up." -Robert Hurwitt, San Francisco Chronicle

Last summer, New York was intoxicated by Absinthe. Now La Vie is set to turn up the heat at Spiegelworld. Montreal's sizzling circus-arts theatre company, Les 7 Doigts de la Main, will present the first ever theatro-batic show hand crafted for a Spiegeltent. Four years ago, seven extraordinary performers from Cirque du Soleil and beyond formed the company which has since captivated audiences around the globe. Their mix of life-threatening aerial acrobatics, wild characters and wicked music will ignite the intimate Speigelworld stage. La Vie dares you to explore all of life's extremes.
