White Oak and Vaudeville, Dec. 26
Posted December 19, 2006
Note: Chris McDaniel is a great trick roper, and Project Dynamite jugglers include occasional Carminer Dave Kaplan. Cyn will be there, the theater is right down the street, but for the rest of you it's only a 5 minute walk from the New Brunswick stop on NJ Transit (Northeast Corridor Line).
Step back in time to 1921, and relive the State Theatre's very first feature presentation, the silent western White Oak.
Boo for the villain! Cheer for the hero! With audience participation and vaudeville acts, this event is more than just a movie! It\'s fun for the whole family!
As at the original matinee, there will be a variety of vaudeville performers including: visual comedian Peter Geist, Project Dynamite jugglers; rope tricks by Chris McDaniel, and song and dance man and MC for the day, Richard Stillman.
Seating for this special event is first-come, first-served. Doors open at 1pm. Rather than charging admission, the theater is sponsoring a food drive to benefit the Middlesex County's Emergency Food Distribution Network (MCFOODS), serving over 60 local food pantries and soup kitchens. Each patron is asked to bring at least one non-perishable food item to gain admission.
Doors open a 1:00 p.m.
Price: At least one non-perishable food item.
