Patrick Dempsey Juggling on TV
Posted May 2, 2008
Remember back when heartthob Patrick Dempsey was just a kid from Maine who liked to juggle? He was good too--he won the silver medal in the International Jugglers' Association's Juniors competition in 1981, and he would have won gold if some unknown eight-year-old kid hadn't decided to compete--and there's no shame in losing to Anthony Gatto.
In any case, he apparently remembers his juggling roots too and maybe even has been keeping up his skills, which he's using to promote his new movie. Watch for him juggling tonight on the Late Show with David Letterman, which may also run footage of his 1981 competition routine (supplied by the IJA Archives). He'll also be juggling next Friday, May 9, on the daytime Rachael Ray show--with the Flying Karamazov Brothers. The show airs at 10am on ABC (Channel 7) in NYC. See rachaelrayshow.com for times and channels in other cities.
