Art Party in DUMBO for "the Strategic Placement of Stone" January 12th

In the spirit of building a contemporary context for stone that can be seen as a marriage between Constantine Brancusi's modernist aphorism "I give you pure joy." and Anish Kapoor's post-modernist dictum "In the Beginning was the Void."

With this event, I am looking to raise funds and awareness for my New York Foundation for the Arts sponsored project, The Strategic Placement of Stone - a public art piece, accepted by the NYC Parks & Recreation Department, that places a 50-ton block of granite at the Bar and Grill Park at York and Pearl Streets. I anticipate the installation to take place September 2007. Both this event and the NYFA sponsored Strategic Placement of Stone are designed to bring positive attention to DUMBO while fostering community spirit and commitment among its neighbors, both the well-established and newly arrived.
