The Juggler at BAM
Posted March 29, 2006
Don't miss a rare opportunity to see this 1953 classic on the big screen.
Kirk Douglas stars as "a Holocaust survivor who relocataes to the newly
founded Jewish state but finds it difficult to return to society because of
crippling flashbacks." It was one of the first Hollywood movies to deal
explicitly with Israel. That's why it's part of BAM's Steinhardt Jewish
Heritage Festival. Why you should see it is he juggles. And he delivers a
"magnificent, scaled-back perfromance that is a far cry from his usual
heroics." Directed by Edward Dmytryk and featuring Milly Vitale.
