Clowns Without Borders Hurricane Benefit Needs Support
Posted February 28, 2006
Note: Posted as received.
Deven and Yvette, members of CLOWNS WITHOUT BORDERS will travel Louisiana &
Mississippi from April 13th-23rd to perform a clown show and offer circus
workshops to victims of the 2005 hurricanes. We plan to provide much
needed laughter, as well as a creative outlet for children and families who
continue to live in transition.
Clowns Without
Borders offers laughter to relieve the suffering of all persons,
especially children, who live in areas of crisis including refugee camps,
conflict zones and territories in situations of emergency. Our motto is "no
child without a smile".
In order to raise the necessary funds to make this project possible we are
asking for your generous support. All members of CWB operate on a voluntary
basis and artists receive no monetary compensation for their work.
There are three ways you can help to make this project happen:
- Attend our benefit in NYC (March 20, Monday from 8-9.30 at the Bowery
Poetry Club for 15$) or our benefit in NJ (April 8, from 12 to 4pm at The
Community Church Glen Rock for 10/15$) and have fun while you support our
cause.
- Write a tax-deductible donation to Clowns Without Borders /Agape
Foundation; a non tax-deductible donation to Clowns Without Borders, in both
cases please memo Hurricane Project. (The Agape Foundation provides
non-profit fiscal status to CWB.)
