"The little trick of getting three objects to dance around in your hands has always managed to keep a small sense of magic about it...It's one form of insanity we feel everyone has a right to experience."

Workshop!
Movement and Clown for the Improviser

July 13, 2003

Movement and Clown for the Improviser
Being Present in your Comedy.

In this 4 hour workshop, participants will play with Elements of Clowning and Movement to create emotionally charged, physical scenework. Using the concept of Authentication and Extension, participants will rid themselves of plot oriented improvisation and "Talking Heads". Improvise with your whole Body and your whole Heart! Experience a greater sensitivity to the moment so that it may be played to the fullest.

Great for Actors and Improvisers alike.

All Levels of experience welcome.

Eric Davis has been improvising and teaching for over a decade. He has taught Clown and Movement internationally, most recently in Ireland and London. He was a co-founder of the John Brown Theatre, acclaimed for its clown and bouffon work most recently showcased at the Kick Ass Clown Cabaret at the PIT theatre. Eric studied Clown with master teachers Phillipe Gaulier, David Gaines, Moshe Cohen as well as Bouffon with Toronto's Clowning guru, Sue Morrison. He and other members of John Brown Theatre went on to create a monthly Clown Show "The Great Show Show Show" which created 7 full length clown shows in 2002. Most recently, they performed in Ireland and saw a 4 month run in Times Square on 42nd Street. His clown work as Mr. Mustard is celebrated in New York's exploding Cabaret scene, as well as his Bouffon, Kevin Kip-Nevin.
