About the Workshop
Moshe asks us to "Put aside your image of the birthday
party clown. Conjure up an image of a human with glints of
humor in their eyes and shades of coyote, trickster, and
fool not far behind." What all these figures have in common
are their associations with someone or something watching
everything, pointing out contradictions and hypocrisy with
humor when no one else dares. You are invited to discover
how your most serious spiritual truths may be expressed
through this world of physical humor.
Deepen your Clown World through an exploration and creation
of expressions. Specify your movement, gestures and
intentions, open up your listening, both interior and
exterior. Sophisticate your playfulness, arouse curiosity
and play the moment. Focus will be on the individual clown
but work will also involve interaction, two or three person
improv and occasional group movement. We will also use
objects. Work will include strong physical warm-ups,
movement, creation f of expression, walks, gestures, and
voicework. Sophisticate your subtlety and exuberance.
