Un Cirque á New York is an An experimental documentary
about life in New York City under the reign of Giuliani.
It follows Circus Amok on a tour of parks and gardens
during a particularly cruel period in our town's history.
The movie features well edited footage of AMOK's flavorful
critique, excellent stage craft, and queer outfits. You
will see rare and improvised sequences;
Mystical secrets of the ring crew, the effects of parading
on the children of NY in three languages, musicians,
designers, and tip top New York neighborhood audiences
including yourselves! Pressman's film, beautifully shot by
Sophie Censier, is a bracing reminder of the just-recent
past. It is also a tribute to New Yorker's who pushed back.
Vive L' Cirque Amok! Come help us pay for our June season!
