Metropolitan Opera Features Circus Artists

Alice Bosveld is starting her 16th season at the Metropolitan Opera as the stiltwalker in Franco Zeffirelli's production of "La Boheme" which opens February 19. This is a beautiful show with great music!

John Grimaldi will be juggling, fire devil sticking and clowning at the Met this season in "Ariadne auf Naxos" (music by Richard Strauss, directed by Elijah Moshinsky.) Opening March 28 for only 5 performances - the last is April 12 - this is a wonderful commedia dell'arte show! John plays a Pulcinella in the italian troupe and is center stage juggling as the curtain rises. The hump and the belly are padding!
