AYCO Aerial Teachers Conference 2004
November 5-7, 2004
Join in the first ever AYCO Aerial Teachers Conference and participate in roundtable conversations and panel discussions lead by experts in the fields of rigging, aerial coaching, insurance, and safety standards. Bring your issues and questions and discover what's going on industry-wide. Be part of the process of shaping our own safety and coaching certification standards. This conference is designed for experienced aerial coaches, directors, riggers, and administrators.

* The Perception of Risk vs. Reality in Aerials: Insurance, Public Relations, and other Administrative Issues
* Coaching Standards: What is out there now? How do schools/organizations maintain standards? What is the possible future for setting national standards?
* Rigging & Equipment Standards: Permanent vs. temporary installations; Schools vs. professionals; Maintenance schedules; How to bring in outside professionals to assess your location; Standards that exist outside of the circus; Differences between rigging for living loads

* Fixed Trapeze Coaching Session: Share with other teachers your hints and tricks for teaching skills; Ask for help teaching skills you don't feel comfortable teaching; Share spotting hints and skill progressions

The most convenient airport is Hartford, CT. For shuttles to/from Brattleboro contact Thomas Transportation 877-526-8143 (approximately $75 each way). Amtrak Trains and buses also stop in Brattleboro. Taxis are available from the stations for transport to local hotels. Rental cars are also available from National and Thrifty.
Directions to the Nimble Arts Studio in The Cotton Mill, Brattleboro, VT
From Interstate 91 in Vermont, take Exit 1 and head East into Brattleboro. At the first traffic light, turn right onto Fairgrounds Road. Pass the High School. At the stop sign, turn left onto South Main Street. Take your next right, a sharp, steep turn. At the bottom of the hill, turn left into the Cotton Mill's parking lot. Nimble Arts is in Studio 334.
