MotionFest Finale

Note: If you've been wondering whether MotionFest is for you, it is. If you've been putting it off, this is your last chance. Just go. Bonus for jugglers: Jay Gilligan is on staff this year.

Drum Roll Please!!!

With great pride we announce MotionFest Finale. Why Finale? the explanation can be read by link from the MF home page at www.MotionFest.com

MotionFest is a professional development conference for high level variety entertainers. There have been 6 successful conferences since the first in Nov 2000 both on the east and west coasts.

Not sure if MotionFest is for you? Check out the list of previous attendees on our website and then ask any one of them for their opinion.

Registration is open now! so I will use the rest of the space here to give some highlights of this upcoming MotionFest Finale:

Dates ---Workshops begin November 11-14, 2004 with Video Shoot show and social starting 7pm on Wed. Nov 10

Because we have doubled the number of intensive teachers, we are offering special pre MotionFest workshops during the day on Wed. Nov 10. Nothing else will be scheduled during the day for Wed...just the chance to take two additional teachers for 3 hour workshops. MF will officially begin as usual with the Video Shoot show Wed evening.

The mix of previous teachers and new teachers recruited for MF Finale include:
  • Karl Baumann - Star Cirque du Soleil character acrobat
  • Tom Casciero - Movement Artist
  • Alan Clay - Author, Performer, Director, Physical Comedy and Actor Instructor from New Zealand
  • Bob Fitch - Broadway Actor/Magician. Consultant to numerous stars
  • Jay Gilligan - International artistic and innovative juggler/object manipulator
  • Nikolaus Holz -International Ambassador of European Clowning
  • Geoff Hoyle - Broadway, Cirque du Soleil, Pickle Family Circus, he's done everything! including teaching at Dell 'Arte School of Physical Theatre
  • Dominique Jando - Director of S.F. School of the Circus Arts, Founded numerous Circus Schools and competitions in France.
  • The Jokesters - Performers and professors of makeup application
  • Dick Monday - Former Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus Clown College Director, Founder of NYGoofs, hilarious!
  • Karen Hurll Montanaro - Mime and movement/dance specialist
  • Robert Nelson -aka The Butterfly Man, street performer emeritus
  • Michael Rock - Second City Theatre staff improv instructor
  • Steve Smith - 10 yr director of Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus Clown College
  • Joanie Spina - Performer/Dancer and Choreographer for Magicians including David Copperfield
Most of their workshop descriptions have been posted. For those that have not, read their bios. Workshop descriptions will be posted as soon as possible. You can pick teachers now and change them later if necessary.

Also expected for lectures and general hanging out: Daniel Holzman, Scotty Meltzer, Tim Furst, Robert Strong, and Zeke Peterhoff.

While this is the list we are currently expecting, teachers are subject to change due to circumstances beyond our control.
