"The little trick of getting three objects to dance around in your hands has always managed to keep a small sense of magic about it...It's one form of insanity we feel everyone has a right to experience."

July 1, 2004

Note: Perhaps a confusing listing but certainly relevant and potentially interesting.

Butoh dance, juggling and contortion performance
by Jean Daniel Fricker

Barely a thousand years ago, I was naked and dumb
I struggle to remember, but only emptiness
I am but movement and scratches.

Jean Daniel Fricker is known for several years for his research combining contortion and juggling. In 1997, he discovers and is deeply affected by Butoh which develops within him especially through meeting Kazuo Ono and Yoshito Ono. He has travelled to over twenty countries where during the past ten years he has experienced street show, circus and stage performances. He also frequently holds Butoh and juggling workshops. He presents a shortened version of his solo performance here, which is the union of his Butoh,Juggling and contortion experiences.
