The Peoples Improv Theater is starting their Spring
Semester 2004 in March.
Classes start March 13.
The Peoples Improv Theater (a.k.a.The PIT) is the only
continuation of the work of long form improv guru Del Close.
Class size is small allowing for one on one instruction and
focus on individual development. Improv Teams are formed
out of registered students. Classes consist of class work
and weekly stage time. The combination of the two forums
gives students immediate feedback and direction of their
growing improv skills.
I don't know if any of you have heard me talk at length
about Del Close and the amazing affect he had on my life
and my work, but his approach to improvisation was and is
truly inspiring. There is no improv instruction that can
even compare to the empowerment the teaching of Del Close
offers any perfomer.
