Cost
Registration is $10 for jugglers, which includes a raffle ticket
for
prizes and admission to the Late Night Cabaret. Admission is free for
non-jugglers and the public at large.
Location
This is a NEW LOCATION! The old gym at Grady HS is being
renovated so we had to move the festival. The folks at Horizons School
were
happy to offer us a place to juggle. Horizons School, 1900 DeKalb Ave,
Atlanta, GA 30307 There's a map at http://tinyurl.com/36pzk
DIRECTIONS:
Take I-75/85 to I-20 east towards Augusta.
Take exit #60B Moreland Ave US 23 North.
Go north on Moreland Ave for 1 mile.
You
will go underneath an overpass, then immediately take a right turn which
circles you around to DeKalb Ave. Turn left and go 1.5 miles and the
school
is on your left. Turn left onto Southerland Terrace and the school
entrance
is on your left.
Look for the JUGGLING sign. Park on the street or anywhere at the school
except the few spaces in front of the gym (we'll leave those for loading
and
unloading).
PHIL Competition for the famous PHIL award happens Saturday at 2 PM. The
Seed and Feed Marching Abominable Band http://www.seedandfeed.org
will open the show. Registered jugglers will have a chance to win some
great
door prizes during the competition. Rules for the competition are simple -
each competitor will have four minutes to do anything they want.. That's
it, those are the rules. We'll give a 30-second warning by someone who
actually has a watch, if wanted. Cost is $1.00 to sign up.
The Late Night Cabaret will be Saturday night at 10 PM at the Horizons
School theater (next to the gym where we're juggling). Don't confuse this
theater with the Horizon Theater at the Little Five Points Community
Center
where the Cabaret has been held in the past (because we're in a NEW
LOCATION
THIS YEAR, remember?) The DeLuxe Vaudeville Orchestra
http://www.deluxevaudeville.com will provide music and entertainment.
Anyone who wants to perform or MC this event, please let us know when you
register.
Workshops On Sunday afternoon several workshops will be hosted by AJA
members and special guests.
Vendors Infinite Illusions, Todd Smith, and OddSports are coming to the
festival this year. You can call these folks in advance to request that
they
bring a particular item.
Transportation
MARTA is still the cheapest way to get around town. For only $1.75 you can
catch a train from the airport, but don't forget to get a bus transfer.
Take
the train to the East Lake Station E-5 and catch bus #17 Decatur-Lakewood.
It will bring you right to Horizons School. Call 404-848-4711 for MARTA
info or go to their website at www.itsmarta.com You can't hail a CAB in
this town; you must call for a pickup. Rapid Taxi at 404-222-9888 runs 24
hours a day.
Housing
Crash space is available at club members' houses. You can call or e-mail
Joyce Howard (phone 770-977-2558) joyce@juggler.net or check with the
