1. Carmine Street announces changes to membership
The Parks & Recreation Department has informed us that as of July
1st, there will be some serious changes to membership:
1. It will cost $75/year to belong to the clubs with indoor pools, which
includes Carmine and 59th Street (SO RENEW NOW AT THE OLD PRICE).
2. Visitors will not be admitted without paying the full membership.
I suggest someone writing to Henry Stern, who has always supported the
juggling club, and requesting a special membership for, say, $30/year that
allows admission to the gyms only and setting up a $5 guest pass. I cannot
do this, as I'm leaving this week for the summer, but if we don't figure out
a way to get visitors in, I think we need to start looking for alternate
space and moving the club. Since this would affect 59th Street too, ideally
it would be space we could practice at during off times too.

Many of you receiving this notice will have seen a previous performnace of a
previous version of this show. It is VERY much changed! It is now a "Clown"
show rather than a show about being a clown! Here's what I will tell you.
Unconventional and nutty, physical comedienne Hilary Chaplain invites us
into some of her most intimate moments with "A Life In Her Day" presenting
us with a quirky and whimsical slice of life that defies even gravity.
This is a solo plain clothes clown show for adults. The universe of this
clown involves a stuffed dog, a vertical bed perched on it's end, a
breakfast table set with a bowl of marshmallows, a roll of paper towels and
a dummy. Using sight gags and physical comedy, Hilary's character confronts
everyday dilemmas and creates inventive solutions while exposing universal
truths and human vulnerability. We see the span of a day that embraces a
lifetime from waking to retiring, from courtship to childbirth, and from
failure to success. The audience imagines that, come the next day, it all
starts over again.
