- Bindlestiff Family Cirkus looking for acts, self-standing shows,
volunteers
- Hosts needed pre- (and probably post-) Reading
- New York Goofs host fourth annual clown school
- Clown car for sale
- Use the Bill of Rights as a subversive act
- (continuing) World Juggling Day June 15
- (continuing) Performing opportunities at Six Flags
- Miscellaneous - whatever sounds clever
Notes:
- Continuing just means it's been here before, not necessarily that it's an
ongoing experience.
- I'm running out of newsletter titles again. I've enjoyed your
suggestions, and I think I used them all. Keep 'em coming. No idea too
stupid (obviously).
- Please do send notices of anything you would like me to list to the NYC juggling community. Over 100 people are now receiving this mailing. It's frustrating when people ask me why something isn't on it -- if it isn't on it, it's probably because you didn't tell me about it!
- Feedback on shows is also welcome. If you see something that you heard about here, please let me know how it was.

2.Hosts needed pre- (and probably post-) Reading
I'm beginning to get lots of e-mail from folks who need places to stay in
New York on their way to and from Reading. Normally I would house them all
here (before Montreal, I took eight people in my one-bedroom apartment), but
I've sublet my place for the summer and can't even stay there myself. Please
let me know if you'd be willing to let jugglers sleep on your floor before
or after the festival, and I'll try to put you directly in touch with them.
Earlier notice is better as people have to make flight plans, etc. The
biggest but shortest so far is a group of ten kids and four grown-ups just
for the night of July 13. Let me know.
And if you haven't made your own plans yet, www.juggle.org. Do it. Do it
now.

workshop. Be funnier.

4.Clown car for sale
I don't know the car, but I'll vouch for Chris Allison.
CLOWN CAR FOR SALE........This 1960 Austin Mini (that has appeared on the
Rosie show) is empty on the inside. There were some alterations to the
outside of the car for maximum comedy, including - hood, trunk, both doors,
two front quarter panels, front and rear bumpers can all be removed. The
blow off was to then have the car split in half and the front half of the
car would have been driven away (I know George could have done this).
Anyway, this car will run and get you the laughs you have been looking for
with a little TLC.......guaranteed (the running part anyway)! For more info
and pricing please contact me at chrisallison@cirquedujour.com

5. Use the Bill of Rights as a subversive act
Buy copies of the Bill of Rights printed on a sturdy, pocket-sized, metal
sheet to bring with you through airport security. Believe me, it changes the
whole horrid experience. It makes you want to get stopped. Info at
http://securityedition.com.
(Okay, it doesn't sound juggling related. You got a problem with that? Start
your own newsletter. In fact, take over this one -- please!)

6. World Juggling Day June 15
What are we going to do? Register to win prizes, etc. here, and email me with any group ideas. And
when I say group ideas, I'm looking for someone else to coordinate activities. I'm willing to publicize them, but I can't organize this one. I hope someone else can. Any volunteers?

7. Performing opportunities at Six Flags
Six Flags Great Adventure is looking for stage & street performers for their
Celebrate America days (July 3-7). They're looking for all kinds of acts:
jugglers, minstrels, barbershop quartets, clowns, arts and crafts, drum and
bugle corps, bands, just about anybody. We asked about fire players and the woman in charge
got excited and said she'd check into it but that it shouldn't be a problem.
Stage performers must be able to have 3 shows at 45 minutes each, or 6 shows
at 20 minutes, but it's negotiable. Acts can perform one or more days. The
compensation is free admittance to the park the day of, and for each day
they perform they get a pass to come back. It's not much, but it should be
fun.
Contact Barbara Eddy (732) 928-2000 ext. 2615 - Mention Carmine Street
Irregulars as a reference.

8. Miscellany -- whatever sounds clever
This is where I'm throwing notice of all the interesting non-juggling info I
get. As with everything else in here, it's just a very biased selection of
stuff I think you should be interested in. This week I have notice of two
comedy club appearances by Brad Aldous, who is a very funny man and a RBBB
clown college graduate; a show by the talented Nick Jones featuring
slideshow, christmas tree, Cleveland, dancing trucks; and a stage manager
wanted listing that doesn't pay but does send you to Edinburgh for all of
August for the Fringe. E-mail Viveca for more info on any of the above (please specify).
