Notes:
- Continuing just means it's been here before, not necessarily that it's an
ongoing experience.
- I'm running out of newsletter titles again. I've enjoyed your
suggestions, and I think I used them all. Keep 'em coming. No idea too
stupid (obviously).
- Please do send notices of anything you would like me to list to the NYC juggling community. Over 100 people are now receiving this mailing. It's frustrating when people ask me why something isn't on it -- if it isn't on it, it's probably because you didn't tell me about it!
- Feedback on shows is also welcome. If you see something that you heard about here, please let me know how it was.

1. Carmine Street is open! Let the wild rumpus begin
Carmine Street gym is open. Yay. See you all there Thursday night. I'd
recommend bringing layers -- it's bound to be getting hot.

2. New variety show every Monday night
Bindlestiff Family Circus regulars Corn Mo and Magic Brian are hosting
variety nights every Monday. The one I went to was a fun mix of acts.
Sick of watching King Of Queens? Are you no longer impressed with people
eating bugs on Fear Factor? Do you feel like Everybody does not Love
Raymond? Then come see live variety on Monday night instead!
It's The Magic Brian - Corn Mo Show!
Monday's at Tobacco Road.
(355 W41st @ 9th Ave.)
Variety Like You've Never Seen!
It's the new cool thing to do on Monday nights and it's only $7! Show starts at 8pm.
Here's what people are saying:
"I loved it! But I have very low standards."
"Sorry, I was in the bathroom most of the time. But I think I heard people
laughing."
"It was a great show until that guy got stuck in the straitjacket, then it
got even better when he passed out trying to escape."
"Please leave me alone, I'm trying to read my book."
"I think I had a Corn Mo once when I was at a barbecue place in North
Carolina. They make them really good there."

4.Circus Minimus in NYC May 19
Free show by last year's winner of the IJA's education award. The owners of
Embassy Suites Hotel are (re-?) opening across from Ground Zero and are
hosting a free 75-minute show.
Circus Minimus - The One - Man Circus in a Suitcase is an entire cast of
circus characters in one small suitcase. There is a band, head usher,
ringmaster, juggler, magician, an Italian circus family, tent and a
sideshow. Each show is a dialogue between the audience and the characters -
a lighthearted collaboration. It's a chance to runaway and join the circus
and still be home for dinner!

5. World Juggling Day June 15
What are we going to do? Register to win prizes, etc. here, and email me with any group ideas. And
when I say group ideas, I'm looking for someone else to coordinate activities. I'm willing to publicize them, but I can't organize this one. I hope someone else can. Any volunteers?

6. Reading Reading Reading
Schedule is set, and apparently hotel rooms are going fast. Make your
reservations now. Plan to be there July 15 - 20, and we'll talk about rides,
etc. later. It's less than three hours away, so we also may be expecting
some visitors to NY before or after. Details here. This is going to be good. Don't miss it.

7. Performing opportunities at Six Flags
Six Flags Great Adventure is looking for stage & street performers for their
Celebrate America days (July 3-7). They're looking for all kinds of acts:
jugglers, minstrels, barbershop quartets, clowns, arts and crafts, drum and
bugle corps, bands, just about anybody. We asked about fire players and the woman in charge
got excited and said she'd check into it but that it shouldn't be a problem.
Stage performers must be able to have 3 shows at 45 minutes each, or 6 shows
at 20 minutes, but it's negotiable. Acts can perform one or more days. The
compensation is free admittance to the park the day of, and for each day
they perform they get a pass to come back. It's not much, but it should be
fun.
Contact Barbara Eddy (732) 928-2000 ext. 2615 - Mention Carmine Street
Irregulars as a reference.

8. Miscellany -- whatever sounds clever
This is where I'm throwing notice of all the interesting non-juggling info I
get. As with everything else in here, it's just a very biased selection of
stuff I think you should be interested in. This week I have notice of two
comedy club appearances by Brad Aldous, who is a very funny man and a RBBB
clown college graduate; a show by the talented Nick Jones featuring
slideshow, christmas tree, Cleveland, dancing trucks; and a stage manager
wanted listing that doesn't pay but does send you to Edinburgh for all of
August for the Fringe. E-mail Viveca for more info on any of the above (please
specify).
