Figment Participatory Arts Event June 12–14
Posted May 13, 2009
Note: We kept seeing this event's publicity last year, and it looked amazing. This year we've found an excuse to promote it—the organizers are inviting circus and variety performers to submit ideas for roving performances (the performance curator is affiliated with Lady Circus). Even if you don't want to perform there though, this may well be worth checking out. We're posting the email as received.
From email:
I wanted to make sure that you, the jugglers club, and any other circus folk you know also know about FIGMENT. A public participatory arts event that happens each summer on Governors Island. Its the weekend of June 12–14 and turns the island into a magical land of play, performance, music, and art.
Check it out at figmentnyc.org, and if you or any of your friends are interested in doing roving performance submit your idea. Or just come out and have fun!!
Cheers,
Ali Schmitz
