SLAM Spring Benefit Show Seeks Acts Mar 21-22

SPRING BENEFIT SHOW AT SLAM SEEKING PROFESSIONAL PERFORMERS
Greetings fellow aerialists, circus performers, students, renters, and
teachers at SLAM. Our spring benefit has been set for March 21st and
22nd!!
Show times are:
- Saturday, 7pm *kid friendly ("SPRING FEVER")
- Saturday, 11pm *Burlesque show—naughty acts encouraged!
(Risque acts yes, but
please, nothing sleezy) *"THE BIRDS AND THE BEES"
- Sunday 7pm *kid friendly ("SPRING FEVER")
Wanted: all kinds of acts for these performances. Aerial, ground,
comedy, magic, and more.
The 7pm shows are open to new works as long as they are spring themed.
All students, teachers, and other performers encouraged to inquire.
This show is open to all who want to perform.
The 11pm burlesque show is by invitation or audition only. To be a
part of the 11pm show, please video tape a submission. We encourage
all to submit ideas and video, but not all acts submitted will be
chosen.
**Looking for a fabulous MC! I want a singer, preferably someone who's
working on Broadway or has a following as a singer/comic and can
handle an adult show.
Also wanted: a ton of volunteers to get the show up and running and
to help sell merchandise and concessions.
**ALL performers are required to volunteer to help, i.e., perform in
one show, volunteer for the next, or volunteer for publicity,
donations etc.
If anyone would like to perform, please email what apparatus, the name
of your piece/character, and music you want to use ASAP. I don't want
too many of the same apparatus or same songs. Burn a CD of your song
(4 minutes or under).
BE CREATIVE!!!
Remember people are paying to support our programs and kids'
scholarships, but they want a great performance too! Don't get too
artsy or modern/esoteric, the audience wants a good time, and the more
fun pieces we give them, the more they'll want to see you all again!
NO MORE THAN 4 MINUTES LONG PLEASE!
Cost will be $20 for adults and $15 for kids.
The adult burlesque show will be $25 per ticket (18 or older only).
Ticket sales will be online at our website for the show and pre sale
only. There are no
comps for these performance; it's a benefit folks, if you want to give
a friend/ boyfriend-girlfriend a freebie, suggest they volunteer.
Press is always comped.
VIDEO TAPING---For the past two years I've used Marissa Maffia as a
videographer and she's been very good to us and she's grown as a
videographer and she's also timely and thourough with supplying video.
I'm not sure she's available, but if she is, I'm sure she'd film.
However, you may have a videographer come in and film your piece only.
Everyone will have to sign a release for the one master DVD of the
show as an archival copy for SLAM use ONLY.
