Circus Summer Camp Seeks Instructors (Poconos)
Posted January 18, 2009
Note: This sounds like a nice way to spend a summer. Posted as received.
Camp Lindenmere is a private, coed, residential camp located in the
Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. Less than 90 miles from New York
City and Philadelphia, Lindenmere is nestled under the breath taking
views of Camelback Mountain. Our 175 acre campus consists of
beautiful woodlands, playing fields and miles of hiking, biking and
riding trails.
Our Circus Program is one of most popular camp programs. Our campers
stay with us for a minimum of 3 weeks or a maximum of 6 weeks and are
between the ages of 7-17. All of our staff have completed at least a
year of college and we have many teachers and adults that return to
work with us each summer. We are currently looking for seasonal summer
staff to teach in our Circus Program which includes:
- Flying Trapeze
- Silks
- Lyra
- Static Trap
- Single, Double and Triple Trap
- Juggling
Being a staff member at Lindenmere is much more than a summer job. It
is a remarkable experience where you will have the opportunity to
impact all the campers and staff surrounding you. We pride ourselves
on our strong sense of community amongst our campers and staff. We
accomplish this by limiting our enrollment and adhering to a better
than 3 to 1 camper-to-counselor ratio. We stress individual attention
and development and allow for spirited, enjoyable competition
throughout the summer. Many of our 300 campers and 140 staff return
year after year.
Lindenmere is an exceptional place where you will meet friends from
all around the world and form life long relationships. Our unique
program offers campers structured, individualized choice. By
recognizing the exact needs and interests of each camper, Lindenmere's
specialized program allows each camper to design their own schedule.
By allowing each camper to focus in the areas of their choice, we
ensure that when campers come to your activity, they are interested
and eager to learn. Performing and Fine Arts, Individual and Team
Sports, Circus, Extreme Sports, Horseback Riding, Special Events and
Trips out of Camp are all part of the Lindenmere Experience.
In order to accomplish the goals, we rely on our staff to be warm,
caring, enthusiastic and motivated. We hire staff that have knowledge
in particular areas and want to share this knowledge with campers who
are eager and excited to learn. Our staff consists of college
students, college graduates, teachers and other youth development
professionals who enjoy spending time with children, being outdoors
and meeting new people.
We offer competitive salaries, room, board and laundry. The dates for
our program run from 6/11/09 - 8/12/09. You can email charles at
charles@camplindenmere.com for more information or apply on our
website at www.camplindenmere.com.
