New York City Opera Seeks Juggler Sept. 25
Posted September 23, 2007
Note: We've now received four separate emails about this gig, and while
the information about call times may be slightly confusing, it is absolutely
consistent. Also, although there is no official information included about
pay in the listing, we hear it's not great pay but it is a great place to
work. Posted as pieced together from all the sources.
The New York City Opera Company is looking for male performers as well as
male and female circus performers for an open call for the show Cendrillon
(the Cinderella story, sung in French). Male performers may be costumed in
drag.
The specific circus skills being looked for are: Contortion, Plate Spinning,
and Juggling but other circus skills are welcome.
The audition will be held this Tuesday, September 25. Men may come at either
10:00am or 10:45am; women are called at 10:00am only. The call for all
circus performers is 11:15am. People should report to the New York State
Theater stage door on the corner of 62nd and Columbus at Lincoln
Center.
Paid rehearsals will begin in mid-October. The show runs Oct. 27 through
Nov. 18th. See NYCOpera.com" for more information on the
production.
The show will be rehearsal heavy so flexible schedules are a must.
Feel free to let others in the community know.
