Mount Sinai KidZone TV Seeks Volunteer Performers
Posted May 7, 2007
Note: Posted as received.
KidZone TV is the first live and interactive Broadcast Studio in a
Children's Hospital in the world. Programming is produced free of cost for
patients and families throughout the hospital who are restricted to their
hospital rooms. Twice daily, patients and families are able to tune in and
participate in live programming from the KidZone Broadcast Studio winning
prizes, playing games and talking live to our special guests.
We are seeking jugglers and entertaining acts that would be broadcast as a
live show to the patients and families in their rooms.
KidZone TV shows include trivia games, word scramble, Bingo, Musicians on
Call, Big Apple Circus Clown TV and much more. Materials are delivered to
the patients rooms so they can follow along with the project or experiment
on our KidZone TV art & science shows. Puppets such as Penina the monster,
Jaque Pierre the cat, and Madison the muppet are also frequent furry hosts
inspiring laughter and a positive memory.
More and more people are discovering the theraputic value in our live
Broadcast Studio. Special guests such as Broadway performers from
Wicked, ensemble members from Tarzan, and Beauty and
the Beast have appeared on the channel. Most recently, Magic Johnson
stopped by to appear for an interview on KidZone TV and inspired many
children bringing such joy to the routine-filled day. Other celebrities who
appeared on KZTV include Troy Aikman, Garth Brooks, Jason Giambi, the NY
Rangers, the NY Mets, Eli Manning, and the Rockettes.
