33rd RIT Spring Juggle-In Apr 16–18
Posted April 7, 2008
The RIT Juggling Club invites you to come celebrate the gift of coordination with championship juggling at the 33rd Annual RIT Spring Juggle In. This year's theme is "In Gravity We Trust." Along with the current International Jugglers Association individuals champion (Doug Sayers) and teams championships silver medalist (Smirk), jugglers from around the country will be attending this festival to help raise funds and awareness for the Dystonia Medical Research Foundation. Estimates suggest that no fewer than 300,000 people in North America are affected with Dystonia, a disease that steals muscle coordination.
Imagine being eight years old and not being able to coordinate your legs to walk or your hands to hold a pen. That's what life is like with dystonia. Since 2001 this event has raised over $20,000 for the Dystonia Medical Research Foundation. To learn more about dystonia please visit dystonia-foundation.org.
The RIT Spring Juggle-In began in 1977. It is the second longest running regional juggling festival in the United States and one of the largest, drawing over 400 jugglers. The Juggle-In includes plenty of open juggling in RIT's Clarke Gym, a free family show, workshops for beginners and experienced jugglers on a variety of props, competitions, raffle, and a public show Saturday night.
