WJF 6 Dates and Location Decided!
WJF 6 will be July 20–25, 2010 at the Riviera Hotel in Las Vegas, NV. Convention packages will start at only $125 and include access to the practice space, ALL workshops, and ALL competition and exhibition shows.
$49/night room rates at the Riviera Hotel under our convention block.
This event will be titled "WJF 6 Live Only!" We will not be producing a DVD of this event but we will be producing it for television broadcast. We will announce any air dates well in advance.
Special Group Offers
We would like you to coordinate a trip for your local juggling club to come to WJF 6. We are already offering very low rates and a very low hotel rate, but in addition we would also like to offer juggling clubs who bring ten or more members the following:
- Free table with banner space and a sectioned off juggling space in front of your table to use as a welcome center/juggling space for those who want to get to know more about your juggling club and as a home base to store your equipment and other belongings.
- A page on the WJF website advertising your participation in this program and information on your club.
- Free WJF affiliate status which allows you to receive discounts on bulk purchases of equipment and DVDs.
- Free WJF 6 T-Shirts for all your attending club members.
Pool your group's resources together, and be the leader who takes the initiative to give your group an experience they'll never forget and always have you to thank. Squeeze two, three, or four people in one room and you're only paying $12–$15 each per night! Slumber parties every night! New WJF Event Rules
Effective immediately I am removing all of the WJF event rules that may have given the wrong impression in the past. Of course I'd prefer nobody attend our events dressed as a clown, but I don't think that needs to be a rule anymore. So you are free to practice any style of juggling and any prop you would like in the practice space (excluding fire, knives, or any other dangerous prop that could be a liability). You may even wear–tie-dye colored clothes (gasp!).
New Competition for Performers:
But even more shockingly—In addition to all our sport based competitions we will now be implementing a new performance-based juggling competition which we will call "the long program." This competition will be scored based on how original and entertaining your routine is in combination with technical juggling skill. The performance should be six minutes in duration with only a fifteen second grace period for going short or long. Just as if you're booked to do a six-minute act, you are expected to hit the same mark in this competition. The performance should be built around your juggling skill and presented in a creative and entertaining manner while demonstrating presentation and performance skills. Prize money for the long program will parallel the amount offered in each short program. Prize money details will be announced soon.
So you now have more options as a WJF competitor. You can use our beginner, junior, intermediate, and advanced sport juggling competitions to hone your technical juggling skill, and then incorporate that skill into a performance-based competition that can be used to get work in other venues. And we can even help you put together a promo video during our event. Winning the WJF competitions looks great on a resume because we have a reputation of attracting the best jugglers in the world to our competitions so winning our competitions really says something substantial about your juggling skill.

I am very excited about this event. I have even more information regarding special guests, special workshops, and even more new competitions that I will reveal after a few more details are confirmed. WJF 5 was great, but with all of us working together with school reports, teaching our friends to juggle and convincing them to come to WJF 6, we can bring WJF 6 to a level comparable to other sporting events. And with higher attendance, we can offer more prize money, even lower rates, more special guests, and more jam-packed juggling for your dollar. My goal for WJF 6 is to provide an event that has the presence of amazing juggling skill, a variety of competition formats so that there's something for everyone either as a competitor or spectator, a friendlier list of event rules so people with other skills may also use the practice space, a variety of different workshop options, a great location, and an extremely affordable and unbeatable rate for a summer juggling event in the US. If there's only one vacation that you can take per year, and you've got a thing for juggling, I've been working on this event for you.
